We had a very pleasant week at Melissa, various updates have been carried out making the villa, gardens and pool much more attractive than when weve stayed in previous years. view of the village, sea and islands beyond is an excellent
Whilst floating on my lilo on the recently renovated pool, I wondered what I would say this time about our visit to Melissa. Weve been quite a few times now as this villa works perfectly for us. Not a "luxury" villa but thats not the point. Its all about the location you find yourselves in. When can you have a 360 degree view of hills and sea? Hills/mountains to the whole of the left hand side, no other villas, and to the right you have a view of the village and sea. Thats why the price is perhaps a little steeper than you think it should be. Even better is the 7 minute stroll down the road where you have a choice of around 3 bars and 9 tavernas, passing two little supermarkets on your way. No loud music anywhere. We dont hire a car but you can hire one in the village if you want to explore for a day or two. I wont recommend one taverna over another as they are all good. Youll find the ones that work for you anyway, but you must try them all. Everybody is super friendly, and when you walk into the sea (very shallow) and look back to the beach all you will see is mountains, tavernas and trees, with the parasols gently flapping in the very welcome afternoon breeze. No high rise buildings, two floors maximum, and a general feeling of peace, quiet and tranquility. Go - you wont regret it.
