Skopelos is the second largest of the Sporades island chain after Skyros. Skopelos is virtually all forest, with 80% of the island cloaked in pine trees and several sleepy resorts scattered around the shoreline.
Skopelos Town is the highlight and built amphitheatrically around a natural, perfect, semi-circular harbour. Dating back several centuries, it is protected by a preservation order, and so has managed to retain its old world charm.
Heading out of town, one discovers the wonders of the exceptional nature and pristine beaches that make Skopelos a true gem of the Greek islands. There is a wide selection of beaches from which to choose, whatever your taste. The majority of the beaches are situated along the southern coast, which are accessible by bus, car or moped along the islands' one main road.
Skopelos cannot be reached directly by plane but you can fly to nearby Skiathos airport and take a hydrofoil/katamaran or ferry to the northern port of Loutraki.
Skiathos port is about five minutes away from the airport. There are many ferry and hydrofoil crossings every day from Skiathos port to Skopelos. This usually take just 45 minutes.
There is also a direct airline service from Athens and Thessaloniki to Skiathos which takes about 45 minutes.
Car Hire or Taxi Transfer: We can arrange car hire to meet you at skopelos port or deliver to your accommodation. Taxi transfer can be also arranged.
