With three kilometres of golden sand, crystal clear waters lapping at its edge, an amazing blue lagoon at the far end and the stunning Babadag mountains forming a backdrop it's not surprising that Oludeniz beach is one of the most photographed in the world. Water sports are plentiful along the beach itself, whilst the blue lagoon is designated a National Park due to its wealth of marine life and rare natural recources.

Iztuzu Beach, also known as Turtle Beach, is a beautiful 7km stretch of golden sand. Loggerhead turtles (Caretta Caretta) come here to lay their eggs. As they are an endangered species this stretch of the coast is protected and recognised as a conservation area. Whilst visitors are very welcome to enjoy this lovely, unspoilt beach, a popular destination for boat excusions from Dalyan, about 12km away, they should remember to respect the natural habitat of these creatures.

At Sarigerme beach the sand is soft and fine whilst the waters are calmer than those at Iztuzu, making it well worth a visit.

The surreal landscape of Pamukkale has been recognised by UNESCO who have classed it as a world heritage site. The hot springs and mineral rich waters have created breathtaking white travertine terraces where people have gone to bathe for thousands of years. Nearby are the remains of the Roman spa city of Hierapolis which, though much damaged over the centuries, are still a fascinating insight into the history of the area.

The ruins at Caunos were first discovered in 1842, and Turkish archaeologists have undertaken excavations there since the mid 1960s. The remains that have been uncovered include Lycean type tombs, the medieval walls of an acropolis, no less than four temples and Roman baths as well as a fountain dedicated to the Roman emperor Vespasianus.

Once one of the great cities of the Greeks in Asia Minor, the ancient city of Ephesus was home to the Temple of Artemis, one of the seven wonders of the world. Just 2km away across the water to the South lies the Greek island of Megisti (Kastellorizo) which explans why this resort has a 'Greek' feel about it & even the Greeks from the Island come over to the mainland to do there shopping & visit the medical centres here: Kas, Turkey
