Holiday Review:
We stayed in this villa for nine nights in mid May 2011 and it was absolutely fantastic! Very clean and modern with many mod cons. However, the advert stated there was a BBQ and my partner and I looked forward to having salad and BBQ on the terrace instead of going out each night. However when we arrived the BBQ was no where to be found. This really annoyed me as I had specifically asked Agni about this prior to booking and it was confirmed there was a BBQ at the villa.

We did call Agni about this twice and each time the person said they would find out and come back to us but sadly we never heard from them. We were not convinced they understood what we were saying each time we called to be honest! As this was only a BBQ it wasn't that big a deal however it might be worth bearing in mind when booking with this company that if you had a more serious problem whilst on holiday they may be of little help.

This problem was a real shame as outside of this experience I found Agni to be a good company to organise the booking with.

Holiday Review:
My wife and I would like to thank everyone on the Agni Team for a wonderful recent holiday in Paxos.

The Villa was excellent and we were very pleased with the help and advice from Fay your representative in Paxos, she was extremely helpful and arranged for us to change our return Hydrofoil to Corfu at short notice.

We will be booking another Agni Villa in Corfu next year and we will be letting everyone know what a great holiday we had and the excellent customer service provided by Agni Travel.

Thanks again.

Paxos is a very small island, and the distances between villages are such that walking from one to the other is a possibility. Just a short stroll brings you to the nearby villages of Magazia and Fontana where there are two Greek tavernas and several traditional coffee shops. A short drive of 2.5 kilometres takes you to the pebble beach at Kaki Lagatha or into the center of Gaios.

Magazia

Magazia Paxos Agni Travel

Magazia: was once the 'capital' of Paxos, in the days when the possibility of attack by pirates was very real! Nowadays, this sleepy hamlet has just a couple of local coffee shops and a taverna. The nearby church of Agioi Apostoloi stands overlooking Erimitis Cliffs. There is a pleasant bar beside the church, with incomparable views of the sunset.

How to get to Paxos:
With no airport on Paxos, most visitors fly to the nearby island of Corfu and then transfer by hydrofoil, sea taxi or seaplane. It is an exciting start to your holiday! Charter flights to Corfu operate from most major European airports from May to October. There are also scheduled flights operating from Athens during the winter months: More Details on the Transfer to Paxos and Corfu Flights
Car Hire or Taxi Transfer
We can arrange a hire car to meet you at the port of Gaios or a taxi transfer: Paxos Car Hire and Transfer
Walking on Paxos
Paxos could easily be described as a giant olive grove! Shaded walks under the trees and coastal tracks, are a delight. The Agni Travel walking map will help you make the most of your holiday: Map of Paxos
Boat Hire
Renting a motor boat will give a whole new perspective to your view of Paxos. You won't believe how many quiet bays and coves you will find as you motor along the coast. A trip to Anti-Paxos is a must and only takes 20mins from Gaios: Paxos Boat Rental
Taxis: there are 6 taxis on Paxos. They offer a convenient service and are not expensive as the journeys are so short. During the evenings, a waiting taxi is easy to find outside of the tavernas at Gaios, Lakka and Loggos.
Buses: there are two buses offering a regular service around Paxos and the main villages.
Anti-Paxos: A visit to the small nearby island of Anti-Paxos is a must during your holiday on Paxos. Only 15 minutes away by sea taxi or your own motor boat, it has some of the most gorgeous beaches in Greece - quite Caribbean in their combination of fine golden sand and transparent blue water. The sea taxis depart regularly from: Gaios, Lakka and Loggos.

Gaios Paxos

Gaios is the 'capital' of Paxos, the largest of the three main settlements and the only one that can be called a town, albeit a very small one. Its Venetian and British heritage is visible in the colourful buildings that line the long harbour-front. Gaios now has two harbours - the newer one is a short walk or drive from the centre, and serves as the port of call for ferries, excursion and cruise boats. It is also the setting for the often spectacular arrivals and departures of the Corfu-Paxos seaplane service. The older harbour, sheltered from the open sea by two small islands, is a never-ending source of entertainment in summer, with its plethora of cosmopolitan yachts. Gaios continues its daily business regardless of its exotic visitors, and it is this contrast that makes it so entertaining to spend an hour or more at one of the cafes in the main square alongside the quay. An intriguing variety of eating establishments, chic boutiques and old-fashioned stores make Gaios quite fascinating: Gaios Paxos

Loggos Paxos

On an island famed for its small-scale beauty, Loggos stands out as one of the most enchanting places on Paxos. Visitors never fail to succumb to its unique charm, and many of them have been returning year after year, glad to see that the changes are negligible, and that you still have to get up from your taverna meal to let the local bus squeeze past! The boats still bob along the curve of the quayside, fascinating in their variety, from sleek yachts to less glamorous fishing boats. The tiny harbour of Loggos, colourful enough for any artist or photographer, has a refreshingly intimate atmosphere, unspoiled by the daily influx of curious visitors. At night, little can be heard but the buzz of conversation from the busy tavernas where fresh fish always tops the menu and there is an intriguingly cosmopolitan atmosphere. Three mini-markets, a bakery with wonderful fresh bread every day, and supplies of fresh fruit and vegetables brought over regularly from the mainland, make self-catering a simple matter - but who could resist the conviviality and choice of excellent food at the waterfront tavernas? A pleasant beach lies to one side of the harbour - other more secluded beaches are within easy reach: Loggos Paxos

Lakka Paxos

Lakka lies in the north of Paxos at the head of a long natural inlet of the most startling shade of turquoise - reminiscent of a Caribbean bay. It is a perfect harbour and is filled with a fascinating array of yachts in summer. The village itself is small and focused almost entirely on its harbour-front, with a selection of useful shops and several good restaurants and bars, including a very good Italian restaurant. The shores of the bay are fringed with beautiful natural beaches, shaded by trees, and it is possible to walk to other, more unfrequented, beaches on the other side of the headlands: Lakka Paxos
