Villa Maria is a most attractive bungalow, enjoying a peaceful location yet close to the beach and tavernas. It is built on level ground with views over the surrounding area and on towards olive groves. It is and ideal choice of holiday destination for families, couples or groups of friends.
Just two kilometres away is Lefkas, the island's main town. Here you can meander along winding, cobbled streets where you'll find everything from local art galleries to a Frankish fortress. With no shortage of bars and restaurants to chose from, those that are lucky enough to have harbourside locations offer lovely views of the marina.
Within walking distance of the villa is the gorgeous, long beach of Agios Ioannis. It's golden sand and gently shelving, crystal clear waterline makes it ideal for families. Along this stretch of the coastline are tumbledown windmills, and it's backdrop of tree clad hillsides are an absolute delight. This is a wonderful beach on which to relax, unwind and work on your tan. Or if you prefer, enjoy some rather more energetic activities, especially kite surfing and wind surfing, popular due to the steady winds that are a trademark of this part of Lefkada.
Layout
Villa Maria is open plan in design. Comprising kitchen, dining area and sitting room from where large patio doors lead out to the pool terrace. The villa has two spacious bedrooms, both with en suite shower rooms. There is also a jacuzzi bathroom. Outside is a generously sized pool, and the terrace has a large barbecue so that al-fresco dining can be enjoyed at any time of the day or evening.
Layout
The living room has attractive, fresh feel to it. With modern furnishings and a large feature fireplace, it offers entertainment in the form of a sizeable TV, with DVD player and a CD player. Just the things should an evening in be on your holiday wish list!
Kitchen - Living Room
The well equipped kitchen features numerous light wood cupboards, as well as a dishwasher, washing machine, large fridge/freezer and full sized ceramic hob and oven.
Adjacent to the kitchen, the dining/breakfast area has a pretty white wood dining suite which will seat six with ease.
Bedrooms
The enchanting master bedroom has a sumptuous traditional style iron double bed as its focal point, and large walk-through closet area leading to the en suite shower room.
Like the master bedroom the second, twin bedded, room is decorated in calming tones and has pretty furnishings. This too has is own en suite shower room.
Bathrooms
The en suite shower rooms are of modern design, and benefit from large corner showers.
Located twixt the two bedrooms is a large jacuzzi room. This sumptuous whirlpool bath is the ideal place to relax after a hard day by the pool or on the beach!
Outside there is a shaded veranda, accessed directly from the living room. At one end of the pool is a large sun deck and barbecue area whilst at the other there is a lush green lawned garden.
The beach at Agios Ioannis is more than simply a stretch of sand. From the sand dunes to the old stone mills that were once powered by the steady winds that are characteristic of Lefkas, there is something very charismatic about this area. These days, some of the windmills have been converted to upmarket tavernas, whilst the winds now power the numerous water sports such as wind and kite surfing. Designated an area of natural beauty, Agios Ioannis has not been overdeveloped, although it is by no means without facilities, tavernas and a supermarket being available closeby.

Agios Nikitas
The beautiful village of Agios Nikitas, is tucked away on Lefkada's west
coast, and is one of the many attractive resorts, grown from a tiny fishing
village. The surrounding area is wonderful, with steep hills and valleys
covered in olive and pine trees, leading down to beautiful beaches and
crystal clear waters.: Agios Nikitas Lefkada
Lefkas Town
Lefkada Town (or Lefkas as it is known in English) is the island's capital, located around a harbour. It is a interesting place to visit with multi-coloured buildings and plenty to see. The buildings and historical architecture are a delight and very likely to surprise the visitor: Lefkas Town Lefkada
Vassiliki Lefkada
The village of Vassiliki is fairly small and still retains a lot of its older buildings. The bay is wide and sheltered but is noted for the afternoon winds that blow off the land and, with the comparative shallowness of the sea, make ideal conditions for windsurfing.
The sight of hundreds of windsurfers speeding across the water is most exciting, even if you are not a fan of this sport yourself: Vassiliki Lefkada
Nidri
Nidri (Nydri) was once the playground of billionaire Aristotle Onassis and
until his death, the area remained quite exclusive and undeveloped. In
recent years, however, it has grown into the island's biggest and liveliest
resort with many bars and tavernas lining the sea front. Its popularity has
a lot to do with the sailing fraternity, who have long made its safe harbour
a necessary port of call when in these waters.: Nidri Lefkada
