At the end of the winding road which snakes along the Assos peninsula is a selection of accommodation for summer visitors. On this narrow stretch it is possible to see the village, beach and small harbour to one side and the rugged coastal scenery of dramatic white rocks against cobalt sea from the other.
 

All apartments at Assos Beach have sea view towards Myrtos bay and the one studio at the top of the building looks out over the village to the bay of Assos with the castle beyond.
 

The three-storey building has just five apartments, one of which is owner-occupied.
 

All apartments have air-conditioning, TV and a private balcony with sea view.
 

The ground floor offers the largest one-bedroom apartment which sleeps up to five persons.
On the first floor there is a one-bedroom apartment sleeping up to 4 persons and upstairs on the top floor there is another one-bedroom apartment and a twin-bedded studio.
 

The apartment (No 3) faces the coast towards Myrtos bay and the views from its balcony are splendid, with the sea lapping at the rocks below.
 

This is a one-bedroom apartment and the separate bedroom has a double bed. In the open-plan living/dining area there are 2 single beds and there is a separate kitchenette area with sink, fridge, microwave oven, cooking rings and kettle suitable for making breakfast or light snacks.
 

The separate bathroom has a shower and wc.
 

Reference Assos Beach Apartment 3

Studio (No. 6) is on the top floor of the building with private village facing balcony. Views are of the village and the sea and castle beyond. There are two single beds and a cleverly concealed third bed can be pulled out if required. This bed has a proper mattress rather than a camp-bed.
 

Attractively furnished and fitted with tiled kitchenette with sink, small fridge, cooking rings and a kettle suitable for making breakfast or preparing light snacks. Separate shower and wc room.
 

Reference Assos Beach Studio No. 6

(No 5) On the top floor there is a one-bedroom apartment with balcony which faces the coastline towards Myrtos and is similar to the apartment below it on the first floor, with a double bed and 2 single beds.
 

The separate bedroom has double bed and French windows leading to the balcony.
 

Reference Apartment No 5

Kitchen/dining room is open-plan with two single beds. French windows lead out to the balcony and the shower-room is accessed from this room.
 

There is a separate kitchenette area with sink, fridge, microwave oven, cooking rings and kettle suitable for making breakfast or light snacks.
 

One of the best features of this apartment is the large balcony with stunning sea views.
 

The ground floor apartment has one bedroom which sleeps 3 on 2 single beds and one sofa-bed, with en suite shower-room.
 

There is a double bed in the open-plan living/dining area which has fully fitted kitchen and separate shower-room.
 

The main open-plan living area has dining table and chairs, full cooker and fridge. Microwave oven, kettle and toasted sandwich machine are also provided.
 

French windows lead out onto an enormous balcony with table, chairs and sunshade from which to enjoy the stunning sea views out towards Myrtos.
 

The apartment has two shower rooms.

The first beach that you see as you enter Assos village is a small pebbly cove which is shaded by trees. This beach is about 50 metres from the Assos Beach Apartments.
 

A few more minutes' walk brings you into the village of Assos with its beach, waterside tavernas and snack bars, local grocery store and taxi.

Assos

Assos, is a traditional coastal village with its own national heritage fort overlooking the bay. The village, of about a 100 inhabitants, contains some of the finest examples of Venetian architecture found on Kefalonia. The pretty beach is surrounded by low key tavernas and cafes. Assos is certainly the place to while away the day and do nothing other than take a morning swim, sample the local wine with a spot of lunch and just soak up the peacefulness.
