Overview

The Almyra Hotel is just one km from the lovely beach of Emblissi and about ten minutes walk from the harbour of Fiscardo.

The pool, terrace, restaurant and bar areas of this quality hotel are impressive and generously sized.

There are 17 standard rooms, 8 deluxe rooms and 2 suites, all of which have air-conditioning and heating with private balconies and lovely views across the sea to Ithaca.

Standard rooms offer twin or double beds and most have side sea view. There a ground floor room for easy access from the driveway suitable for those with disabilities.
Deluxe rooms are larger with double beds and with front sea view. They offer a sofa which can be made up for a third person.
There are 2 suites at the top of the hotel.

The setting enhances the Almyra even further, with lovely views across the green hills and out to sea.

The standard rooms are on the first and second floors. There is a choice of double or twin beds with maximum of 2 persons per room.

Some of the rooms have a full bath in the shower room and all have private balcony. Standard rooms usually have a side sea view.

The deluxe rooms are a little larger than the standard rooms and are on the fist and second floors of the hotel.

These rooms all have a sofa-bed to sleep a third person if required. Some of the deluxe rooms have four-poster beds. The en suite facilities all have bath as well as shower.

Private balconies have a front sea view across the swimming pool.

The two suites are usually booked up quite quickly. They are on the third floor of the hotel and although there is a lift to the second floor, the third floor of the hotel is reached by a flight of steps from the second floor.

Suite 301

Suite 301 is a one-bedroomed suite which sleeps up to 4 persons. It has a double bed in the bedroom and two sofa beds (a double and a single). There is a separate living room. The suite has a sea view from the large front rooftop terrace with the bedroom windows overlooking the road.

Suitte 302

Suite 302 is an open plan studio suite sleeping up to 3 persons with a double bed and a double sofabed. The suite has a large terrace and sea views.

The freshwater swimming pool is 15 x 7 m with a depth of 1.0 - 2.1. There is a children;s pool 3.9 in diameter with a depth of 0.5

Assos

Assos, is a traditional coastal village with its own national heritage fort overlooking the bay. The village, of about a 100 inhabitants, contains some of the finest examples of Venetian architecture found on Kefalonia. The pretty beach is surrounded by low key tavernas and cafes. Assos is certainly the place to while away the day and do nothing other than take a morning swim, sample the local wine with a spot of lunch and just soak up the peacefulness.

Myrtos

Myrtos, is the most stunning beach on Kefalonia and has been voted one of Europe's most beautiful. A huge cove of white limestone gives the water an incredible turquoise colour; it really is breathtaking.

It is a ten minute walk from the hotel to the harbour where the majority of Ficardo's retaurants may be found. One of the most popular of these is run by the family of the Almyra's owner, Polychronis. His sister, Tassia, has published a cookery book and features on a television series.

Fiscardo is one of the few villages on Kefalonia left intact after the earthquakes of 1953 and is everything that you could imagine an Ionian harbour village to be. Strict conservation laws have preserved an array of original Ventian and Venetian style buildings, attractively decorated in pastels and white. These buildings are spread across two small bays leading to the stunning harbour. A stroll around the village will take you through winding alleyways, past the church and down to the focal point of the village, with its attractive selection of restaurants, shops and bars that stretch along the harbourside.

The hotel has a restaurant which is open three times a week for evening meals. Breakfasts are served buffet-style. There is usually a BBQ evening held at the Almyra once a week. Pool bar is open for snacks throughout the day.
