Around Paleochora you will find many different beaches (sandy and pebble beaches, many small bays). Most are safe for children, making Paelochora the holiday place for all the family.
There are also about ten archeological sites around Paleochora, a big number of Byzantine Churches and a Venetian castle. Paleochora is not just a tourist resort but also still a typical Cretan village that has grown together with its friends and visitors.
A daily bus connects with Hania and ferry boats bring you to the islands of Elafonisos and Gavdos, as well as Sougia, Agia Roumeli (Samaria Gorge), Loutro and Sfakia.
