The olive press has been restored into two self-contained areas:
Upper Level: Olive PressThe main property, which houses the original olive press, has an open-plan dining/living room with kitchen. The first floor, which is reached by a wooden staircase, has two twin-bedded rooms and a family bathroom. On the upper floor is a double bedroom with en suite bathroom. The bedrooms are air conditioned.
Ground Floor AnnexThe ground floor of the property has been converted into a separate annex with living area, kitchen, 3 bedrooms (1 double and 2 twin) with 2 bathrooms. The bedrooms are air conditioned.
The original olive press has been converted into a large living area. At one end is a fireplace, set off by unusual curved couches constructed of stone bases with comfortable cushioning, that face the open fireplace. The walls are hung with old tools and artefacts recalling the building's past. Double French doors lead on to the large upper sea view terrace.
The three upper bedrooms (all air-conditioned) are reached via an open wooden staircase which has been constructed using part of the old press.
1st TwinAt the top of the first flight of stairs and at the front of the house is a twin-bedded room, simply furnished to set off the handsome stone walls. Two windows overlook wonderful views over Agni Bay.
2nd TwinNext door is a smaller twin-bedded room with French doors leading to a small veranda to the rear of the house.
The top floor is reached via another short flight of stairs and used to be the loft of the olive press. This room has a large double bed facing the full-width patio doors which open onto a private balcony.
The annex occupies the lower part of the property and has separate access and offers traditional accommodation for an additional 6 people.
Large patio doors and windows on two sides of the living area make the dividing line between indoors and out almost invisible - a real garden room. These patio doors are the entry to the property.
There is a well equipped kitchen - incorporating original stone features and including a washing machine.
There are 3 air conditioned bedrooms.
The annex has two bathrooms both with showers.
Because many of the old parts of the olive press have been used in the construction of the house (in particular the staircase), we do not recommend this property for the elderly or families with small children.

The magical swimming pool has been modeled around the 'Baths of Aphrodite'. This mythical location is where the the Goddess of Love used to take her bath in a cool pond near Polis. According to legend, Aphrodite used to bathe in this pond, set within an olive grove with sweet smelling wild flowers. It is here that she met her beloved Adonis for the first time. Adonis was hunting in the Akamas forest when stopped to quench his thirst. He was struck by the sight of the naked goddess bathing in the crystal waters. Aphrodite and Adonis were instantly bewitched by each other's extraordinary beauty.
This setting has been imaginatively recreated at the Olive Press with two pools; an upper pool which cascades into a lower pool.

Google MapAgni Bay Agni Bay: In Greek Agni means un-spoilt and this describes Agni perfectly - just three Tavernas (each with their own jetty for mooring up to) and a sprinkle of local buildings. The bay is reached mainly by rented motor boats, although recently there is now a narrow road down into the bay. Each evening we offer a 'Speed Boat' taxi service, from surrounding bays to Taverna Agni. The above video shows the exciting experience. Corfu Holiday Information
