Villa Petra has evolved over the years since it was first built as one of the first-ever foreign-owned villas in Corfu. A great deal of thought has been put into its recent refurbishment, and it is now quite superb. Its colour schemes reflect the hues of sea, sky and shore, and the entire ambience of this fabulous villa is one of peace, comfort and happiness.
Layout
On the ground floor, the entrance hall leads via few marble steps, to a large living room with dining area, opening on to a sun terrace with separate dining terrace. On the same level as the hall is a large, very modern kitchen with pantry, and shower room. Upstairs there are four bedrooms - two with double beds and two with twins, and two bathrooms. A separate annexe opening off the pool area accommodates two people, and has its own kitchen area and separate bathroom. The villa has been designed for those with walking difficulties in mind, although it does have a number of steps. It is not, however, suitable for young children.
Living Room
The living room is gorgeous - prints and paintings, some done by visitors to the house, are set off by a stunning stone wall, and there is plenty of comfortable seating arranged with the fireplace as the focal point. Large patio doors lead out to the sun and dining terraces.
Dining Area
A beautiful dining table will seat 8 with ease. Wide windows allow cool air to circulate, and open on to the lovely umbrella-shaded terrace - perfectly situated for the after-lunch or dinner coffee.
Kitchen
The fully fitted and extensively equipped kitchen is proof that the owners of the villa love to cook. A pantry is also situated just off the kitchen.
Bedrooms
Master Bedroom
This fresh, bright, blue and white bedroom gives a feeling of elegance and comfort. French doors lead to a small balcony overlooking the sea.
The two twin-bedded rooms are of individual design and have plenty of wardrobe space.
All the bedrooms have a sea view.
A second double-bedded room completes the accommodation within the main house.
Bathrooms
Shower Room
The ground-floor shower room is located next to the kitchen.
Bathrooms
There are two beautifully tiled quite spacious bathrooms upstairs.
The magnificent pool enjoys a sunny aspect with plenty of sunbeds for lazing the day away. There's even a poolside fridge for cooling drinks!
When the heat gets too much, there's a spacious covered area for cooling down.
Pool Dimensions
Size: 10m x 5m Depths: Shallow=0.80m; Deep End=1.80m
Garden
Villa Petra is surrounded by completely private gardens, where the natural sculpture of the rocks combines with the twisted trunks of the mature olive trees to create a haven of typically Greek beauty. Paved paths and steps wind gradually down to sea-level, where there is a gate to the beach.
Balcony
Main Terrace
The sun terrace, just outside the living room, overlooks the pool and the sea - a fabulous place for breakfast or evening drinks! Very private, with a view that has scarcely changed in all these years - olive and cypress trees, glittering blue sea.
This vine-covered dining area, with marble table, is perfect for al fresco dining and another indication of the owners' love of entertaining.
Pool Apartment
Next to the pool is a self-contained apartment that sleeps 2. French windows open on to the pool terrace itself, making an early morning dip a matter of leaping out of bed and jumping straight in!
A large walk-in shower for easy access, in the annexe.
Private Beach
Although no beach in Greece is strictly private, the beach in front of Villa Petra is quiet and fairly unfrequented. A gate separates it from the villa gardens. From here, it is a comparatively easy walk to the tavernas at the beach of Nissaki.
Nissaki is a small pretty resort with a horseshoe-shaped beach, offering excellent swimming and water sports. There are several tavernas specialising in local cuisine. A small harbour shelters the many little fishing boats that are moored there and there is a jetty/collection point for the Taverna Agni water taxi which offers an evening service to Taverna Agni and a twice-weekly trip to Corfu Town.

Places Close By
Kaminaki
Kaminaki, located on Corfu's north-east coastline is spectacularly beautiful, but has remained uniquely unspoilt in spite of its celebrity-status.
Kaminaki is one of the small and enchanting bays that stud this coastline like jewels on a necklace. Still only a hamlet, with village houses occupied by their original local inhabitants, it has a mixture of modern and converted accommodation, two unpretentious tavernas (and others within easy reach), and water of Caribbean colours that laps against a gently shelving beach of pure white pebbles and sand.
Krouzeri Beach
Krouzeri has a long beach (sandy and pebbles) offering safe swimming, water sports and diving. Beachside tavernas provide welcome refreshments to those enjoying the beach and excellent snorkelling. The nearby Nissaki Beach Hotel offers a swimming pool which is open to non-residents, a restaurant and bar and, during the evening a low-key disco. There is a jetty/collection point for the water taxis which operate in the area.
Kalami
Kalami: The bay of Kalami nestles below the hills of the North East Corfu and is famous for
both its beautiful beach, and Lawrence Durrell's 'White House'. A popular destination for couples, Kalami is also
ideal for a family holiday with tavernas, safe swimming, water sports and boat hire - everyone is catered for!
Agni Bay
Agni Bay: In Greek Agni means un-spoilt and this describes Agni perfectly - just
three Tavernas (each with their own jetty for mooring up to) and a sprinkle of local buildings. The bay is reached mainly by rented motor boats, although recently
there is now a narrow road down into the bay. Each evening we offer a 'Speed Boat' taxi service, from surrounding bays to Taverna Agni. The above video shows the exciting experience.
