Skopelos does not have an airport so most visitors fly to the nearby island of Skiathos and then transfer by hydrofoil or catamaran. It is an exciting start to your holiday! Charter flights to Skiathos operate, from most major European airports, from May to October. There are also daily domestic flights from Athens and Thessaloniki to Skiathos.

The easiest way to get to Skiathos is by charter flight directly.From Skiathos there are several ferry and hydrofoil crossings every day to Skopelos (approx 45 min. Skiathos port is approximately 5 minutes drive from the airport. Another possibility is to travel via Athens or Thessaloniki to Skiathos airport.
From some European countries you can also fly directly into the small airport of New Acheallos near the port city of Volos. By taxi from the airport, you may reach Volos port in approx 20 minutes. There are several crossings a day from Volos to Skopelos by hydrofoil and high speed ferry which take between 2-3 hours depending on the type of ferry.

To allow for same day transfers to Skopelos, we recommend flights that arrive at Skiathos not later than 13.00hrs. This avoids an overnight stay on Skiathos, although if necessary, onward transfers can be arranged the following morning.

If your flight to Skiathos is late at night, you may decide to book a hotel and take your onward journey the next morning. Our representative will be happy to help you.

Skiathos port is approximately 5 minutes drive from the airport. Full arrival transfers from Skiathos airport can be arranged, which include a greeting at the airport, taxi to the port and tickets for hydrofoil or catamaran.
