Kas charm comes from its unhurried ambience & because it is further away from Dalaman airport it gets fewer visitors than the resorts further up the coast. Once an unspoilt fishing village Kas has lost none of its charm and ruins of the acient town of Antiphellus mix with the more modern buildings to create a unique & wonderful atmosphere. Just 2km away across the water to the South lies the Greek island of Megisti (Kastellorizo) which explans why this resort has a 'Greek' feel about it & even the Greeks from the Island come over to the mainland to do there shopping & visit the medical centres here.

Kas has two beaches - big pebble beach & little pebble beach. There are also many swimming platforms dotted along the coast which are great to have a swim from. The lovely Limanagzi beach complete with a Restaurant can be reached by water taxi which leave Kas regularly throughout the day & takes about 10 minutes.

Kas has a great choice of restaurants to choose from and most offer the mouth watering Turkish cusine - ranked as one of the top 5 foods in the world. It also has a wonderful selection of bars so if you want a quiet drink by the waterfront or something a bit more livley you will find it in Kas.

You are spoilt for choice when you explore this area which is rich in history & ancient sites.
The sunken city at Kekova Island is a must with plenty of time to swim during a relaxing day. Another day out is to Xanthos which was the capital city of the Lycian Federation and its greatest city for most of Lycian history. You can combine this with a visit to the Saklikent (Hidden City) Gorge, the second-largest gorge in Europe, about a 30 minutes drive from Kas. It is a spectacular place, with sculpted walls soaring high above.

As you look out to sea from Kas the first thing you will see is the Greek island of Kastellorizo which is just 2km away. This tiny Dodecanese island has a population of just 200 hundred & with its charming harbour & a travel time of only 20 mins from Kas it is a nice way to spend a day.

If you are after diving Kas is the right place to come as it has some of the best diving diving in Turkey with its ancient & modern wrecks,reefs,caves & underwater fauna & flora. There are many diving centres in Kas which offer different dive packages from introductory to advanced PADI & CMAS courses. Another great way to explore in the water is by kayaking & with its calm waters you can explore the coast under your own steam or with a group.

If lying on a beach is not your thing just inland from Kas you will find countless opportunities for trekking & hiking from easy guided tours to unique expeditions. The Lycian trail will take you through ancient city ruins,temples & unspoilt villages. There are several centres in Kas who can arrange this for you.

A gulet boat cruise sounds like the perfect day & these leave Kas harbour every morning for a cruise around Kas bay finding beautiful bays for you to snorkel & swim. Or why not combine a holiday in Kas on land with a cruise down this stunning coastline. You can have a private charter or arrange a shared gulet with other passengers for a few days or longer - a wonderful way to explore the parts of Turkey you can't get to by car.
