Space is abundant in this charming house, which boasts some 400m2 of floorspace.

The ground floor comprises a main living room, second reception room that includes a lounge and small library, a dining room, well equipped kitchen, two double bedrooms and a shower room.

Upstairs, in addition to a family bathroom, three further double bedrooms and two twin bedded rooms, one of each being en suite, the billiard room is located.

Outdoors there is a lovely al fresco dining area accessed from the living room, large and beautifully maintained gardens, superb private pool and a pavilion which is home, amongst other things, to a laundry room.

The principle living room is sumptuously finished with beautiful antique furnishings, rugs and paintings. The triple tiered chandelier that is the centrepiece of the room may be large, but it is entirely in keeping with its surroundings. Patio doors lead from this room to the outdoor dining area.

The second living room is also furnished with beautiful antiques. A slightly smaller room, it also contains a library.

The large formal dining room is reminiscent of a banqueting hall, with a long solid wood table that seats 10 with ease. Another chandelier, heavy beamed ceiling and antique cabinets all add to the ambience of this room, which cries out for guests to enjoy long, leisurely meals within its walls!

The massive kitchen is equipped with such features as a range style oven, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and informal dining/breakfast table that seats eight. This room is not just somewhere in which to prepare the occasional snack, it is truly a chefs paradise.

Orchidea Villa has 7 bedrooms in total. On the ground floor are two double bedrooms. Both are spacious and elegantly furnished. Other features of these rooms include parquette flooring, and one has an open fireplace.

The other 5 bedrooms are all upstairs. Three further doubles and 2 twins. Again, all are beautifully furnished, including one that has a fabulous French bed. One of the double and one of twin rooms has their own en suite shower rooms.

In addition to the two en suite shower rooms the first floor also has a family bathroom. Downstairs there is another well appointed shower room.

The external features of this property are as sumptuous as those found indoors. The 5,500sqm of fenced, beautifully maintained garden is exclusively for the use of guests to Villa Orchidea, as is the large pool with its sun terrace and beautiful views. Near to the pool is a pavilion which houses a small bar, dressing room, shower room and a laundry, equipped with washing machine. Also located in the grounds is a charming little private chapel.

The pool is available form 1 April to 31 October each year. It is 12.5 x 6.5m, with a maximum depth of 2.5m.

Whilst organising a wedding ceremony at the chapel can be complicated due to strict Catholic law it is not impossible, and the chapel may be used without any difficulties for blessings after a civil ceremony and for other celebrations. The villa owners are happy to help organise your special day for you. The villa and grounds themselves are ideal for a wedding reception with plenty of space outside to celebrate, and the large kitchen in which food can be prepared.

The village of Bagnano, which has a small supermarket and a pizzeria: approx 1km.
Barberino Val D'elsa, which has a larger selection of shops and a public tennis court: 6km.
Certaldo: approx 6km.
Petrognano located by the Florentine, with the ruins of Semifonte, a town destroyed in 1202 is a short drive.
The surrounding area offers some opportunities to enjoy pleasant walks.

San Gimignano, a fascinating medieval town: approx 30km.
Florence: 40km.
Siena and Volterra are both within a 45 minute drive
The medieval hamlet of S. Appiano and also Linari are well worth a visit.
