Tricase is a lovely little town (divided into an upper and a lower part by the sea called 'Tricase Porto') in the heart of Salento region, about 50 km south of Lecce.
Tricase Porto houses one of the most ancient natural ports of the whole Italian Peninsula, dating back to the 1400s.
Around the harbour it is possible to sit in great restaurants offering traditional Italian food and fresh fish.
For who can't stay away from clear blue water and sunshine, still wanting a great privacy during the high season months, bathing along Tricase's rocky coast is easily possible using one of the many paths leading from the coastal road to the water's edge.
